Orca

Movement at the water’s surface; the figure appears and disappears in the same gesture.

The orca is depicted at the threshold between visibility and concealment. Emerging briefly at the water’s surface, the form is partially dissolved into surrounding movement, creating a tension between mass and atmosphere.

Layered ink washes suggest depth and transparency, while controlled drybrush and gouache accents articulate foam and surface texture. Water functions as both barrier and mirror — a liminal space that frames the animal’s restrained, powerful presence.
